Emporia State University The nation's debt is completely outrageous. As citizens of the United States we should of not left the debt be this high. Our nation's debt should be the main concern for our president. We just keep digging ourselves into a bigger and deeper hole. Very soon we won't even be able to climb out. As a way to start decreasing in debt is by focusing more on our country. We don't need to be worrying about other countries and their problems. We have enough problems and issues as it is. Citizens of the United States could lower their limit on credit cards so they don't rack up a high debt themselves. Everybody should start taking apart in helping. People who have community service could work to lower the debt. With the economy in a recession we are just moving backwards to lower the debt. More and more people lose their jobs and file for bankrupty as well as businesses and companies are going under. As a country we have been looked at as a dominant country since the wars, soon we won't even have money and decline to a third world country. People need to realize this.

Changing Expectations
»A new report finds the main problem in getting the public to deal with our fiscal problems isn't opposition to tax increases or spending cuts -- it's their lack of trust in the government to spend their money wisely. |
Re: A climbing number that should be decreasing
Rachel, I can feel the frustration that you can convey in your words. Next time, you should elaborate a bit more in-depth of how you believe one should fix the problem. As it stands, you seem to understand the problem at-hand well, and you solution seems reasonable!
Thanks for your thoughts!

Re: A climbing number that should be decreasing
I'm afraid that I might make a wrong statement, but I want to say that we need to cooperate with other countries since all of the nations are under the depression with the United States. When you have a clutch on your one leg, you can't run. Likely the United States cannot run out of the recession without cooperating globally. However, I like the idea about community service and lowering the limit of their credits. Good Job!
