I wondered how many people actually knew what the national debt was. How can we, as a nation, fix something that not everyone knows or thinks they don't need to know? The first half of the video are answers to my question - what is the national debt. The last half of the video is an exploration of ideas on how we can pay down the debt.

Re: Barometer of the National Debt

Great job! I really liked the different images you incorporated into your slide show. Asking people if they knew the national debt was a good idea. Maybe adding some music to complement your images would help emphasize your point even more.

Re: Barometer of the National Debt

April,

I really enjoyed watching this video. The responses that individuals had based on their guesses at the amount of national debt were quite different. Nevertheless, I liked the solution, which is working together to find a way out of our financial crisis. You did a great job.

Very interesting video. I'm amazed at how many people didn't know the amount of the national debt.

Re: Barometer of the National Debt

I really like all the pictures you had with the points you were making next to them. Also i think it was a great idea to go around asking me people what they though our national debt was at because it showed that most americans really dont know. However, it would have been nice if there was more interview in the video actually asking people what they thought after seeing if they knew what the national debt was, but other than that great job and good video.

Re: Barometer of the National Debt

I liked your video and how you interviewed different people to see what they thought the national debt it was. Before econ class I had no idea what the debt was, my answer along with a lot of people would have been I don't know. A lot?

Re: Barometer of the National Debt

I enjoyed this video it gives you a since of what the U.S is going through. It shows you what we are stuggling with. My favorite picture was the very end, those kids are our future what are we doing for them.

Re: Barometer of the National Debt

Very interesting. It's a little sad how little some people know about their own country. I can't complain too much, I've only been paying attention to the economy for the last year or so. Very well done.

Re: Barometer of the National Debt

Even though I was guilty as being one of them, it is amazing how many people don't know how much debt our country is in. You did a good job with your video. Nice images to help represent the points you were getting across.

Re: Barometer of the National Debt

Oh my gosh!! I loved your video!! You did an amazing job!! It is crazy and sad to see so many average Americans out of the loop when it comes to our national debt! That is why we need education, so people know what is going on!!!!!!! And I loved how you suggested that every US Senator live on an average American's salary for one year....that is such a great idea! GREAT JOB!

Thanks!!

Re: Barometer of the National Debt

I thought your video was fantastic! I believe it is excellent evidence which proves that our government continues to spend virtually unchecked because the people of this nation are either uninformed or show no interest as our debt grows in size. Excellent work.
