Why such an issue like Debt?

Have you ever spent more money than you ever had and wondered how you still ended up getting something for nothing? That is what debt is all about. There are many causes and effects to the debt issue that we are in right now but better yet our debt is growing for us Americans. Even though there are some reforms that will help us out to try to reduce the debt issue but nothing can just eliminate it right away. There is no way to get a complete erase of the debt but to try to reduce or slow down the debt is what we need to focus on. The real issue that us, as Americans, are in is that we are spending more than what we have and borrowing money but we cannot pay it off.
Some causes of our debt is for the fact that we are taking money through taxes and then also borrowing money and in the end we cannot afford to pay it back. Then on top of that we then have an issue for what do we do next. We have to borrow more money to pay the old back and then we are in worse than before. The thing is that years ago the dollar was worth more than it is now so our debt is increasing because of the amount that we have to recover ourselves from. A dollar a 50 years ago and a dollar today would last awhile where as today it would be like 1000 dollars. We are spending more money through the department of defense and Health and Human services. What we have to look at on top of those is the Treasury Department which includes the interest on debt that we have. This interest on the debt that we have just also puts us in more debt because as we get deeper into debt we pay more interest on the debt that we already owe.
The effect that the debt that we have are causing more of us Americans to have more troubles getting money for our everyday needs in turn we are in a recession. The reason that we are having a problem with spending the hard earned money that we make through our jobs is the fact that everything is so expensive and then taxes that we owe. The taxes will never go down from what we pay to this day, they will continue to increase and we know and understand that but it doesn’t mean that it makes life for us any better. This recession may not be as bad as it was when we went into the depression but at times more people are suffering from it than can be seen. The upper class is considered the middle class, the middle class is low/poor class and the low/poor class is even lower than before. It is going to be hard for these people that are moving from class to class because at some point they have to realize what they truly need from what they want. Several groups or classes are having a problem with this and this also puts them in a worse spot than before which is stressed out. When people are stressed then it puts stress on not just them but everyone around them because it is everyone dealing with this issue and not just them. From the standpoint of dealing with the stress it is also why can we not get rid of this problem that we have had for so many years. We are not even putting a little dent on what debt we are in so are we ever going to get out of it. Even though we as Americans have always been in this debt issue will we be able to get it to a point that it will not cause any economic worries like it is now or will it just get worse.
Sever different types of reform are trying to be done by the government and one of which is giving more money back from taxes so that people will hopefully spend more money so that it will boost the economy. This would be nice where some people may be getting this money back and just spending it on every day needs such as bills and car payments. Another reform that has been put into place is that we are giving certain states money so that they can rebuild roads and bridges. This not only helps the states but it helps people find or get jobs. We also have been given federal public building projects money so that they can fix up what we already have to building new projects. This helps because it gives more people a chance for jobs.
Its not like we are not trying to help each other out with this debt problem that we as a nation face because we do have reforms there to help with this loss. Every year the debt does get worse one of which reasons is the interest that we are paying since we are in debt. This would be nice if the dollar value was worth more today. We may someday have less debt than we do now but I don’t think we will ever fully get completely out of debt but it may slow down but never completely vanish.

Re: Why such an issue like Debt?

Good essay. I agree that we should be putting money back into the economy and getting people jobs.

Re: Why such an issue like Debt?

Good essay, I really like some of the points you made such as how the money stretches differently from year to year and how different socioeconomic classes are moving from classes to classes.

Re: Why such an issue like Debt?

I like your essay! I really like how you related the issue to us personally in your first sentence, it was a good way to grab our attention!

Re: Why such an issue like Debt?

Great essay. I agree that the U.S. has borrowed more money than they can possibly pay back.

Re: Why such an issue like Debt?

I think you did a good job of expressing your views and ideas. Isn't it scarry to think that there may never be a final answer for this problem? Thanks for your essay. -DeZ
